This is my mother’s family photo. In the center is grandmother Roiter wearing a kerchief, beside her is grandfather Iosif Roiter. The first from the right is my mother’s brother, whose name I do not remember, beside him is her younger brother Ehil Roiter, sitting is my mother older brother’s wife. In the center is my mother Elka Roiter.
On the left is my father Moisey Muchnik, with him are his brothers Motl and Folyk Muchnik. This photo was taken in Bershad in a photo shop before WWI, in 1916; the brothers are wearing papaha overcoats made by my father.

Фрида Мучник поначалу не хотела давать это интервью. Она несколько замкнутая женщина, в ее доме в Бершаде никогда не бывает гостей, и сама она почти никогда не ходит в гости. Меня она тоже не приглашала. Позже она сказала мне, что единственная причина, по которой она согласилась принять участие в интервью, заключалась в том, что ей нравился мой голос и мягкие манеры, и, кроме того, по ее словам, она не возражала против идеи рассказать мне о своей семье. Фрида пришла ко мне в гостиницу. Она красивая женщина, с аккуратно подстриженными волосами и слегка подкрашенными розовой помадой губами. На ней были брюки, блузка и широкополая шляпа – будучи в Израиле она привыкла защищать свое лицо от солнца. В своих суждениях она требовательна, порой резка, но в целом Фрида – очаровательная, сообразительная женщина с отличным чувством юмора.
