Between 2000 and 2010, Centropa interviewed 1,200 Jewish Holocaust survivors in Central and Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union and the Balkans. We digitized more than 20,000 of their photographs and asked them to tell us their stories about the entire 20th century – as they lived it.
In 2005 Centropa began an exhibition program based on the interviews and photos we have collected in 15 countries. On September 29, 2016 our exhibition „The Ukrainian Jewish Family Album“ was opened in Kiev and is since then travelling community centers, libraries, universities and schools around the country. The official opening of the new Centropa exhibition “The Moldova Jewish Family Album” took place at Muzeul Național de etnografie și istorie naturală in Chisinau on November 16, 2017.
On our Ukrainian and Moldovan exhibition pages, we provide the exhibition booklets and impressions from the cities and places the touring exhibitions visited.
